19N (1983AJ01)

(See the Isobar Diagram for 19N)

Studies of the 18O(18O, 17F)19N and 208Pb(18O, 207Bi)19N reactions at E(18O) = 91 and 93 MeV, respectively, lead to values of the atomic mass excess of 19N of 15.856 ± 0.050 (1982NA08) and 15.96 ± 0.15 MeV (1979BA31). The adopted value is 15.866 ± 0.048 MeV. 19N is then stable with respect to decay into 18N + n by 5.45 MeV. Differential cross sections for the two reactions in which 19N has been observed are ~ 500 nb/sr (6°) (1982NA08) and ~ 120 nb/sr (85°) (1979BA31). In addition to the ground-state transition, (1982NA08) report the population of states at Ex = 1.12 ± 0.04 and 1.59 ± 0.04 MeV. See also (1980AL1F, 1980NA12) and (1978AJ03).
