15B (1986AJ01)

(See the Isobar Diagram for 15B)

The Q-value of the 48Ca(18O, 51V)15B reaction is -21.768 ± 0.025 MeV, leading to an atomic mass excess of 28969.5 ± 25 keV for 15B (1983HO08) based on the masses of 18O, 48Ca and 51V in (1985WA02). Wapstra adopts 28970 ± 22 keV and we shall also. 15B is then stable with respect to 14B + n by 2.765 MeV. At E(18O) = 108 MeV, dσ/dΩ = 2.0 μb/sr at 5° (1983HO08). The β- decay of 15B has been reported: τ1/2 = 11 ± 1 msec. Upper limits have been set on the P0n and P2n: 5% and 1.5%, respectively (1984DU15). See also (1981AJ01) for the earlier work, (1984HI1A, 1984MU27), (1980AL1F) and (1981SE06, 1983ANZQ; theor.).
