11Li (1975AJ02)

(See the Isobar Diagram for 11Li)

11Li has been observed in the bombardment of heavy nuclei by GeV protons. Its mass excess is 40.9 ± 0.1 MeV (1973KLZN). 11Li is bound: Eb for breakup into 9Li + 2n and 10Li + n are 0.2 and 0.3 MeV, respectively [see (1974AJ01) for a discussion of the mass of 10Li]. 11Li has a half-life of 8.5 ± 1 msec (1969KL08), 8.5 ± 0.2 msec (1974RO31): it decays to neutron unstable states of 11Be with Pn = (61 ± 7)% (1974RO31) [based on Pn(9Li) = 35%].
